8 Random Thingies

1. I steal my mother's CDs on a daily basis. I can't help it. She listens to good stuff. Nat King Cole. Earth,Wind and Fire, Cool and the Gang, Ella Fiztgerald, Greenday, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Bob Marley. No, really. Like the Tracy Chapman I'm listening to right now. So hers.
2. I am an only child techinically. Biologically my parents, together, had only me. Untechnically (I made that up, sorry) I have one sister on my mom's side, plus an adopted sister and five brothers on my father's side. I am my mother's oldest child and my father's youngest. if you can figure out the chronological order of age, you rock....
3. I'm psycho when it comes to my hair. Imagine the typical black woman and the way she feels about her hair. Now, quadruple that to the power of 10. Yup. Pyscho.
4. I prefer my own company in general. Public gatherings are hard. It involves being a good conversationalist, being not boring, people skills. I lack most of these things.
5. My grandmothers were both stunning at my age. My mom was supposedly the hottest girl on campus at her time and my paps looks 40 when he's closer to 60. With all these good looks floating in my gene pool I am flabbergasted by my own averageness. Flabbergasted.
6. Every single morning when I wake up, I sneeze. That second right before the eyes open is sneezing time. Accordingly, like clockwork, the brain goes off of hibernate and ACHOO!That is what life is like when you have allergies.
7. I sucked my finger till third term, p.7. As a result my teeth were horribly skewed. Thank the Lord for orthodontists. True it did not help my puberty to be fat, four-eyed AND have a metal mouth. But we are on the bright side now. Straight teeth!
8. I speak english fluently and write it even better (when I want to). I speak french very badly but write it like a french 8 year old (thats something right?). My mom is a munyankole, her mother is a muchiga, my paternal grandmother was a mutoro, my father is a munyoro but actually in a complicatedness, he is a musongora. I speak none of these languages well.Infact on attempts people have laughed so hard, they hurt themselves. No really, they did.
