Aunt imparting wisdom to young niece – Please stop banging on the kitchen door. Nanny has gone to ask a cow for your milk
(Niece pauses with fist halfway to kitchen door that is closed to keep her out. Her face lights up with wonder. So it’s the cow. All this time she thought it was the fridge. Huh. Who’da thunk? )
Niece –A cow? A cow has milk?
Aunt – Yes and Nanny has gone to ask it for some so that you can have some
Niece (suspicion creeping into her voice) – Where does a cow keep the milk?
Aunt pauses to think this through. Explain truthfully or not. She decides.
Aunt – Every cow has a big fridge and they keep milk in there so that nannies, mummies and daddies can get some if they ask nicely (aunt internally pats herself on the back for adding the polite lesson)
Niece – Is there cheese also?
Aunt – Of course! And butter and ice cream and yoghurt...The fridge is really big...

This is going to come back and bite me in the ass. I know it, I just know it. Why didn’t I just say Fresh Diary?!
