I am listening to Naeto C “Kini Big Deal” (w’allahi lai t’allahi gimme lighter, sebi sebi, we’re on fire) and trying real hard to think of something to write about. Streetsider has me on bukenke with the whole moth eaten comments comment. Now I have to deliver and this is aggravating the blogckitis. Stress! Guilt! An overpowering urge to please!

That and I’m fighting the urge not to Google Naeto C. You know if he keeps his shades, he would be the first West African I would willingly scream like a nut and throw myself at. He is too cool. Here is a picture

My cousin and I try to alternate drinking with sharing interesting tidbits from our respective educational choices. Our own version of “said the lawyer to the psychologist. Once she told me about customary virginity. It is this thing in South Africa where you are a virgin so long as you have never, you know, done it with the man you in your presence. For example, Jane goes to a party where her ex and the man who took the cherry, John, is. There are ten other men there. Jane is a (customary) virgin to the ten men and not a virgin to John. This is (customary) law in the RSA. Brilliance at its best or consolé?

What interesting tidbit have I shared lately? Well last week in Health psychology my lecturer told us that every time a man loses a certain amount of weight they gain an inch in a certain area code. What? How much weight? I don’t know. Somehow that’s the part I forgot.

Does anyone know if P-Square has decided to take a nap yet? They haven’t slept in like four years; dey go come out with songs every hour like we go forget them if they let us blink a second. I’m even learning pidgin! Anyway, who knows, maybe they are on bukenke too. Maybe Peter slept with a Nigerian mafia lord’s daughter and papi found out…speaking of musicians who do not rest. Who told Akon that he needs to be in every single music video and echoing “Konvict” at the back of every song? I have held my peace through everything, even through the enigma that is Lady Gaga but Lionel Richie? Seriously? And what is that weird hand move?

Now I am dancing with my shoulders to that old Kinyarwanda song “tarihinda”. It is very hard to dance in a public computer lab. It would be a little easier if I didn’t care what people thought but I do prefer that people not immediately become aware of my inclination towards insanity. Their perception of ‘a sweet, serious and mostly innocent chick’ lets me get away with much. Not that I’m not sweet. I might be but if I am it’s the only the tip of the ice berg. Isn’t it funny how people insist on putting you in to a box? No one really ever fits smack dab perfectly like that. You should see expressions when I say that though. It’s like the expression a Ugandan man would have if the nicely roasted piece of pork he held in front of his mouth, thescent doing the rumba with his nose began to try and convince him that he didn’t want to eat it.

Ok, that’s it. I’m about done. Can’t think of another thing I want to say. Oh yes. It’s Women’s Month! Celebrate a woman! Celebrate women! Celebrate me! …oooh that has post possibilities… What? We have a day and a month? Yes that’s right. I don’t make the rules. I just enjoy them.
