be happy

Sooooo…I’ve got this undeniably cool job where I work five days a month. Sometimes I have to stay longer than five days because there’s a lot of work and sometimes I don’t work at all. But when I’m not at work, I’ve got no internet so I do my own version of the disappearing act. Its not like anything of import has happened. Well something has happened but I’m not thinking about that. I am pretending that I can be mature about things like this. I will not throw a tantrum to rival my two year old niece’s. I will be neither sullen nor vindictive. But oh how I’m dying to be. I want to scream and shout and then just when you think I’m done, I want to fall into a quiet sullen mood where I say nothing but make everyone’s life miserable. But I will not. I refuse to. I now belong to the Grin & Bear It Club, not be confused with the Gin & Bear It Club. Happiness is not a feeling. It’s a state of mind. I just read that somewhere. So I’m testing it. I am thinking pointedly happy thoughts.
